Discover this curated collection of beautiful black and white flowers from my portfolio in order to build a fabulous monochrome wall art gallery.
The inspiration for this curated collection came from the words of Leonardo Da Vinci. “A painter should begin every canvas with a wash of black because things in nature are dark except where exposed by the light”.
It’s true that light is what gives an object form and our clear view is closely dependent on its brightness. And, photography uses this light as a medium. The word photography comes from two Greek words, which mean light and write. So, in a beautiful way, this word literally states that one is writing/drawing with the light.
Thus, in this post, there are fabulous flowers whose textures and details are captured on a black background from my portfolio.

In black and white photography, the balance of light exposure is always a question; too dark to stay hidden; too bright to be washed away by white. And, still, Talbot’s negative/positive invention in the 1830s remains the core of the photographic process. The photo lens focuses light onto a light-sensitive material; this is either the photographic films of the past or the complex microchips of today.

Black and white floral photography is ideal in order to create wall art galleries. Firstly, they are stylish yet subtle and they match different decor styles. Moreover, their dramatic monochrome forms pair harmonically not only with black and white decor but with any color palette. And, you can include them in mixed galleries where different artworks are combined.
After all, black and white floral photography has a classic and timeless quality. It insists on structural elegance and minimal, yet naturally complicated, beauty.
