She was teaching macrame knots and when practicing at home, we were learning from her. I remember myself as a kid knitting a whole backpack with rope. And, there was a really beautiful macrame lampshade into our kitchen and plant hangers to our balcony.

The Lark’s Head Knot is a fundamental macrame knot that serves as a starting point for many projects. It’s simple to create and versatile and it is commonly used for attaching cords to a base, creating loops for hanging, or starting more complex patterns.

And, I tried it immediately because it’s not difficult to find its material anyway. Cotton rope, long driftwood, scissors, and acrylic painting and brushes, if you want to add colorful details.

Decide the length of your desired macrame and cut the rope into many equal pieces. Tie the pieces on the driftwood by making basic Lark’s head knots. Make many of them to reach your desired width.
