Fava is a small beach located in the second peninsula (Sithonia) in Chalkidiki.
You will find it three kilometers southeast from Vourvourou village, after Karydi beach. Some call it the “beach of teachers” because it’s inside the settlement of the teachers of AUTH University. Do not hesitate to ask the locals and passersby. The signs are almost nonexistent and the streets in the settlement are really complicated and easily confused. You will understand that you are close when on a small slope on your left, you will see the little stone chapel of Saint Theona. Then, follow a narrow alley through the trees that lead south, and in a minute you are there.
If you decide to visit Fava beach, make sure you have with you the necessary: umbrella, towel, water, something to drink and eat because it is not organized and the nearest shops, supermarkets, tavernas are about two km away. Yet, you are completely rewarded by the natural attraction; the beauty of the thick forest and the wildness of the carved rocks that surround the beach, and, of course, the crystal turquoise waters of the Aegean sea.
