Lights decor ideas for small kitchen
Lights are an excellent way to make your small kitchen look bigger. Besides, if you choose an interesting design of the lights, you’ll get quite a statement piece in the space (no matter if the lights are simple but in contrast color, are wired, or have a unique design like a chandelier).
You can also put LED strip lights under the cabinet and above the kitchen worktop. White or yellow LED light brings a certain touch to any place, and it certainly contributes to the coziness of the kitchen.

Colors & Pattern
A lot of people avoid using colors or patterns in small kitchens because they have a feeling it will visually diminish the space even more. Due to that, they tend to use only light colors.
However, you can definitely add some color and full details, you can paint one wall in bright color, use a pattern kitchen worktop, or perhaps pattern tiles.
But bear in mind that you don’t want to suffocate the space with too many colors or patterns. Use one bright color or pattern on one bigger item, space, or detail. Now, that will bring your small kitchen an interesting twist.
Wall Storage
Oh, I love this one! The biggest problem with a small kitchen is the storage. Where to put all the tools and accessories? Display them as decor! Get small hooks (they can be self-adhesive too, actually, those are certainly the most suitable ones) and place them on the tiles or wall.
Start small and bear in mind that the key is organization and creating enough storage. Use empty walls for adding texture to the space with wood shelves or hooks. This is a great way to free up the cabinets and drawers, as well as to simply decorate the kitchen with cooking accessories, herbs, green plants, glassware, and more.
You can then hang your cooking tools and/or mugs and free up the space in the drawers and cabinets. The same goes for the cloths. You can place them to hang on the wall. To make everything even more interesting.
Choose cloths that will emphasize the kitchen design even more-let them be colorful to add a bit of brightness or with interesting patterns so they emphasize the design itself. Cloths and cooking tools placed on the walls certainly add a bit of texture to the space, as well as free up the space in the cabinets.
In case you have free walls, you can place some shelves too. For example, if you have white walls, get brown shelves to add natural and more rustic vibes, and underneath them, you can have those mentioned hooks with cloths.
Shelves are great for glasses, bowls, and small details. To make them more aesthetic, add a few hanging green plants. They can be real or artificial, and they will certainly give some freshness to the small kitchen.

Glassware & Pot
Speaking of shelves and storage, don’t think that the glassware and pots will badly affect the space – why not use them as storage, as well as the decor? Listen up! Use glassware or pots as storage for herbs, spices, candies, or something else, and add color and texture that way.
You can create an ombre color palette or simply use the shape of the herbs as a unique way of adding a twist to the kitchen. Basically, that way you store the glassware and pots, store some ingredients and spices and add color and texture. I’d say that is a great 3 in 1 solution. That solution is actually great for kitchen countertops too.

Kitchen Rug
To add that touch of coziness, you can definitely use fabrics such as rugs and carpets. Go with a smaller piece in natural colors which will beautifully contribute not only to the entire kitchen space but also to the floor itself. A nice rug always rounds up the entire design of every space, not only a kitchen.
Natural Decor & Greenery
Okay, well ready mentioned storing the herbs and spices in the pots, but have you ever thought about growing the herbs? This is probably one of the most aesthetic decors ever, it fills the space in a beautiful way (whether we’re talking about a small shelf or countertop which simply looks unfinished or an entire space), brings colors, and is great when used fresh in the meals.
You can have hanging vases with bushy herbs, a shelf dedicated only to this natural decor, or something else, but let me tell you – such natural decor truly brings freshness to your small kitchen. If you’re not interested in herbs but still love greenery, just add the green plants we already mentioned a few paragraphs above.
Stove/Sink Cover
This is a great way to have more space for preparing a meal, but also a nice touch of decor. The cover over the stove or the sink can have numerous different patterns, photos, and art and it will nicely contribute as simple decor to the kitchen, as well as an additional space for prepping meals, cutting fruits and vegetables, and more.
Creating more space is one of the most important things when we want a small kitchen look bigger. So, this one will do the trick for both functionality and decor.
Mirrors, Artwork, Or Chalkboard
Okay, and these are more decorating tips and tricks on how to make a small kitchen look bigger. For simple decor (without the need for wall storage), use mirrors (excellent for opening up the entire space), and artwork, or for creativity, add a chalkboard. Warm accents can be made with rugs and carpets, while the lights under the cabinets or shelves will certainly add that special touch to the kitchen.
Mirrors
If you feel like your walls are missing something (yet, you have enough space for storing all the kitchen accessories and tools), consider adding a few mirrors. Besides the fact that they visually make the space bigger, they can also have beautifully designed frames that can give the entire kitchen nice details.
Artworks
Artwork is also a great idea for rounding up the entire design and decor. Use cooking images, messages, quotes, or drawings to add an interesting twist, detail, coloring, and/or texture.
Plus, you can use colors and patterns smartly and create a nice (and moderate) contrast. Small kitchens can be beautifully decorated to offer not only functionality but also coziness.
Chalkboard
If you want to be even more creative, a chalkboard or corkboard is quite popular as decor for the last couple of years. A big or small board can be a great way for writing notes, and messages for your loved ones, or simply write down the ingredients you need.
Don’t be afraid because the chalkboard is black – it won’t downsize the kitchen as long as you don’t overdo it with its size.
Just get rid of everything that is cluttering the space and start small. Wall by wall, detail by detail. And in no time, you’ll see which piece, item, and decor works the best in each corner. And have fun!

Nice ideas
Beautiful and great convenient layouts
All very good ideas, with the possible exception of the over the sink storage rack. It'll collect ick too quickly. Otherwise, I love them all. :)
I hate the small kitchen trend the last decade or so though. I have too many pots, pans and kitchen gadgets.
Great ideas
