The weather still shows its summer mood. But, we all hurry up to clean and take out our clothes and accessories for more chilling days. Closets are in the cleaning forehead one more time and this seasonal clothing change is a great chance to declutter, clean up, and reorganize our closets.
Be In A Good Mood When You Start
Sometimes we feel that decluttering is so vain. No matter our efforts and our organizing skills, we must declutter and reorganize our closet to keep it tidy and shiny. But, the first key for a successful decluttering is to be in a good mood and repeat. It’s essential to start big reorganizing projects, only when you feel determined to make it as good as you can. So, postpone if you are feeling bored, or disappointed, or just bad-tempered. I usually search for relevant videos on Youtube or watch “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” on Netflix to be inspired, feel in the mood, and discover new or more practical ideas.
Make The Best Use Of Your Closet
The other important thing is the storage space and to make the best use of it. You should invest in clever organizers. This is an easy and cheap way to “rebuild” your closet arrangement. Think about which areas in your closet are difficult to stay organized: your clothes, underwear, shoes, bags, scarves, etc. And, then make a research on the organizing products that are available for your things. Of course, relevant books, articles, blogs, images, all that stuff you can see on the web, are very useful and inspirational to discover and choose the way you want your closet to look like.
Small Steps Of Improvement
It’s not always the best choice to make dramatic changes in your closet. Sometimes, it’s better to make small steps of improvement, which will keep your closet tidy and give you future feedback about your ideal arrangement.
We must be decisive with the clothes that don’t fit us anymore. We can donate them if they are in good condition. If we are not feeling ready to give them away yet, we could store them in a “sentimental box” for six months and decide about them in the next season. Of course, we recycle damaged, holey, and stained clothing that no one could wear them. I bet that soon we will replace them with pieces prettier and more useful. It’s so true that we don’t use the majority of the things that we keep in our closet!
Find The Right Place For Your Off-Season Clothing
We usually clean up our closet at the beginning of every season to bring out our new season’s clothes. So, it’s important to create a space in our closet for our off-season clothing. There is a large variety of storage boxes in the market. We should choose storage boxes that will practically and efficiently store our clothes in categories and with safety.
