My Ten Favourite Latin Quotes

There are many Latin quotes and proverbs to contemplate and be inspired. I always find it interesting to read and meditate over those small portions of wisdom. Laconic as a proverb should be, they concentrate the knowledge of years and reflect the beautiful gravity of an ancient language. Here, I share my ten favourite Latin phrases.

• Omnia mea mecum porto:  “All my belongings, I carry with me”

• Aut viam inveniam aut faciam:  “I shall either find a way or make one.”

• Quod me nutrit, me destruit:  “What Nourishes Me, Destroys Me”

• Omnia praeclara rara:  “All excellent things <are> rare”

•  Omnia mutantur nihil interit:  “Everything changes, nothing perishes.”

• Per aspera ad astra:  “Through hardships to the stars”

• Tempus neminem manet:  “Time waits for no one.”

• Neutiquam erro:  “I am not lost.”

• Alis volat propriis:   “She flies with her own wings”

• Omnia causa fiunt:  “Everything happens for a reason”
