A presentation of painter Pamela Saramandif

Last Updated on 28/02/2022

Pamela Saramandif Vardin is a very talented mixed media painter from the island of Mauritius and this is a small presentation of her painting “Muted”. She is also one of the two winners in the “Artist of the Week contest” for a second time with her wonderful painting “Muted”.

Pamela’s art is mostly driven by textures and new painting effects. “Textures add depth and variety to an artwork,” she had explained to us in her previous interview. “Sometimes it is my search for new effects that lead to a theme. As soon as I start to work, ideas keep flowing. And, at times it is a theme emerging when I allow my mind to travel…“

Her paintings are either driven by emotions or try to reach the aesthetic value of certain things. “Muted” is inspired by nature and the miracle of life, which can take place even in the most difficult and unconventional places. Her description, like her composition, is so expressive and definitely poetic: “Swamp. Place of transition and wild growth. Breeding grounds out of the spotlight.. Where our imagination can mutate in and out of the water. Streaks of green lie underneath. And life merges again”.

Pamela always tries to go deeper into the matter before she creates and this sometimes requires a long period of reflection. Her abstract mixed-media artworks attempt to map some of the magic that life hides. “Painting is an illusion, a piece of magic,” Pamela had commented in her interview. “Because there is so much more what you see… It is a boundless world of imagination, transgressing the limits of the world of reality… You need to understand the magic to see the true picture”.

Thank you very much, Pamela, for this inspirational artwork and presentation. You can find Pamela Saramandif Vardin and her gorgeous work on her page: fineartamerica.com/profiles/pamela-saramandifvardin
