Porto Koufo is the largest natural harbor in Greece. It’s located in the northwest cape of Sithonia, the second peninsula of Chalkidiki. It’s known from ancient times, as it’s referred by Thucydides.

In Greek, “koufo” means deaf and it’s given this name because one can’t hear the sound of the sea, when he enters in the harbor.

You will find it about 25 km south of Neos Marmaras village, after Toroni. Today, it’s a famous yacht, sailboat and fishing harbor. Except from the physical attraction, you can also find many restaurants (tavernas) with fresh fish to eat and a small sandy beach to swim in the east side of the inlet.
