Karagatsia (ftelies) is one of the superb beaches in Ammouliani island among Alykes and Megali Ammos. The word “Karagatsia” means elms and the beach was named so, due to the many elms that grow around.
Karagatsia beach is in the west side of the island, about two km far from the main village (chora). Its richness in fish made it famous for scuba diving. The beach is not much organized. There’s a canteen with drinks, snacks and sandwiches and few deck chairs. You will love the clear waters, the beauty of the seabed, the wildness of the rocks in the hills and the tranquility of the scenery.
